The National Bargee Travellers Association is a volunteer organisation that campaigns and provides support and advice for boat dwellers on Britain’s inland and coastal waterways.  The term “bargee traveller” includes anyone whose only or main home is a boat and who does not have a permanent residential mooring.

Our community has few specific rights in law and navigation authorities do not always accept our right to respect for our homes. Every year, boat dwellers are evicted and have their boats seized. Many of these people are disabled, elderly or ill and should be protected from homelessness.

Membership is free.  To join, please complete the form below.  Please tell us what skills you have to to offer; we always need more people who can help with campaigning, action or advising boat dwellers.  Members receive information and announcements by email. You can cancel your membership at any time.

If there is anything you would like us to be doing or if there is anything you would like to see on this site, then please feel free to get in touch either using the contact form below or by following the email link.
